Artist Steven Alexander is a contemporary abstract painter, creating bold, yet simple artworks of geometric shapes. His radiant colorations and compelling arrangements make for masterpieces that invite viewers to confront meditative explorations within their own existence. Completing a Bachelors from Austin College in 1975 and a Masters in painting from Columbia University in 1977, Alexander has soared through a remarkably successful career as a painter.
American painter Steven Alexander was born in west Texas in 1953. Given the open nature and wide lands, Alexander spent much of his early years admiring the blue skies and open green meadows. Inspired by the beauty of raw simplicity in his hometown landscape, artist Steven Alexander carried with him the uncomplicated geometric configurations into his paintings. Alexander speaks, "My hope for the painting is that it acts as a catalyst to dislodge the viewer's imagination from its day-to-day pattern and that it creates a new place in the world for the viewer's consciousness to wonder, reflect, or just to be still. That's the regenerative power of painting." Artist Steven Alexander pours heart and passion into his paintings, effortlessly creating a meditative space for his viewers to perceive their own physical and emotional states of being within his art.
As a member of the American Abstract Artists group in New York, Steven Alexander contributes to the appreciation of abstract art through his inspiration to others. Alexander's passionate dedication to his artwork has earned him his place in countless solo and group exhibitions, including in the Spanierman Gallery in New York.
